How I spent my Valentines Day!
Valentine's day is such an interesting time of year...I was hoping to write an in depth post about the meaning behind it and how it fits into my life buttttt....because of time it looks like its going to be a quick re-cap of my day. :)
Firstly, it was my gorgeous sister's birthday. Yup, Heidi was born on Valentines Day! So cool, I know! Since I can remember, Valentines Day has always been 'Heidi's' birthday. Sadly, we rarely get to spend it together since we've lived in separate cities for the passed 10 years or so; I moved to New York when I was 18 (more on that later) and we've both moved around quite a bit the last couple years. She currently resides in Arizona and attends ASU Law. Love her! The pic below is from our step dad's surprise birthday this past November :)
Honestly....my Valentine's day was quite long and exhausting. I was in Atlanta for the weekend judging a dance competition and only actually slept for maybe (5) hours on Saturday night. YIKESSSS. I know for some people this may be a regular occasion but not for me...I LOVE my sleep and usually prefer about (9 or 10) hours each night. Yes, I'm serious. Anyways...I woke up at 6am (SO tired), powered up with some Starbucks (my go to when i'm on the road in small towns, its reliable), and set off for another day of judging...
The morning rounded out to be great however one of the highlight's of my day was arriving to Rhythm Dance Center in Murrieta, GA (about an hour drive from where I was) to find these three adorably sweet little angels (pictured above) all in smiles anxiously awaiting to shower me with the most lovely hand written cards, yummy truffle chocolates, and even coffee grinds lol! They sure did their research ☺️ and most definitely made me feel so loved and appreciated. This really did give me some much needed energy!! LOVE is powerful like that ;) So... I made a quick change into my 'sweats' and we got straight to work creating one of my favorite pieces to date. The pic below is from our rehearsal...and...they're 11 years old.
Rehearsal finished at about 9:30pm and then Dani and Becca (the owners of RDC) and I headed to dinner at this extremely comfy and very trendy not to mention tasty restaurant, SALT, in Roswell, GA. It was delicious!
Welp, that was my Valentines day! Hope you guys had a great time with your loved ones!
